Sham Valley is popular for tourist attractions like the Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, and the Indus Zanskar River confluence. Before reaching Sham from Leh, you will also be visiting the Hemis Shukpachan.
Sham Valley also offers a beautiful road by the Zanskar river, which can take you up to Chilling Village. Chilling Village has opportunities for rafting and laying aside river shore for feeling the raw nature.

Sham Valley is situated about 3,874 meters feet above sea level. The temperatures ideally range between 20°C – 30°C. You should carry comfortable clothes and one sweater for the night with you throughout your time. The hilly terrain can also be a challenge for experienced riders. Make sure you are fully equipped with your riding gear (helmets, gloves and other equipment). Also make sure to have a toolkit handy capable of managing tiring inflations and deflations, which can be caused by the changing atmospheric pressures.

The high altitudes may cause acute mountain sickness. They are common and mild, but some cases can be life-threatening. Symptoms include nausea, headache, shortness of breath and inability to exercise. Severe cases might require oxygen, and medications and move to lower altitudes.
